Nuestra Historia was a project created over the course of three years between SINA, the Hartford Public Library, and Trinity College. It involved both painting murals of neighborhood heroes as well as creating a bilingual walking tour that showcased neighborhood history as told by the people who experienced it. In total there were 6 murals painted, depicting 14 heroes who were all chosen through a democratic grassroots nomination and voting process. 





The inspiration for this project came from conversations with residents in Frog Hollow. The stories they shared are not what is taught in history books and is not what is projected to the wider greater Hartford community. 





Nuestra Historia is about recognizing the people’s history of the neighborhood, honoring those who have positively made an impact, and realizing that we are the ones who will write its history going forward.
